I know

Getting into any medical school by no means is extremely difficult. This is especially true for Canadian applicants, as thousands of deserving candidates compete for a very limited number of seats every year. Adding to that difficulty, the medical school application process can be quite confusing, often leaving students feeling lost and overwhelmed.

I was in that exact same position, with little guidance. After years of research and perseverance, I finally received my medical school acceptance from an Ontario university! I’ve always felt a strong desire to give back to the premed community to help those who feel hopeless and to shed a light on the path for those who are feeling lost. That’s why I decided to create this blog — to be a companion on your journey and help you achieve your own acceptance.

As the saying goes, “Know your enemy and know yourself”. I can think of no better way to capture the essence of the medical school application process than this quote. If you understand what medical school wants and what strengths you have to offer to them, it will always be a battle worth fighting. The road to medical school is challenging, but you’re no longer alone. I hope this blog helps you feel a little less lost and a little more empowered as you take each step forward. You’ve got this!

WELCOME!

Hi there! I’m an incoming first-year medical student at Queen’s university. Before starting this next chapter, I worked as a registered nurse at one of the busiest urban hospitals, where I started my career as a new graduate. Beyond clinical work, I’ve been exploring entrepreneurship as a way to channel my creativity and passion for purpose-driven work into meaningful personal projects.

In my free time, I love to do photography and video editing, hiking, playing instruments and singing, and dabbling in app/web design. In fact, I (tried my best to) design this website and photographed the pictures you see on here! I also enjoy skating, camping, drawing, writing, and curling up with a good book – basically, I love learning and creating in all kinds of ways.
